Braxton's quickie for the day...
If you should ever find yourself at a stimmer’s convention, and you feel like picking a fight, just start a conversation on which power box technique is the best. There are two major methods: one I’ve labeled “Rock & Roll”, the other, “Ratchet”.
With Rock & Roll, the basic idea is to do a constant back-and-forth motion with the intensity control, sending power surges to the genitalia, which will eventually succumb to orgasm. This technique has a de facto requirement for an intensity knob, because it is impossible to produce the same effect with push buttons.
On the other hand, the idea behind Ratchet is a simple step function: stim for a certain amount of time until the stim begins to lose its “edge”, at which point you ratchet up the intensity by a fixed increment.
This would no longer be a quickie if we delved into every pro and con for each method. Suffice it to say that whichever way works for you is the one that makes sense (for you, that is). I am a proponent of a strong mental routine. I believe the mental routine should offer at least as much stimulation as the power box. I think the Ratchet method is far more conducive to the concentration required for that mental routine.
As you may have gathered from the introductory paragraph, many stimmers evolve into thinking that their choice of technique is an article of religion, thereby carrying it beyond the realm of any rational discussion.
