Braxton's quickie for the day...
By now, quickie readers should be familiar with the fact that the smaller the sticky pad, the more “zing” you feel. This is the reason we offer both a small and large pad in our kits.
This same principle also applies to internal electrodes. If you have seen a vaginal or anal electrode with a huge chunk of shiny metal on it, you need to fight the inclination to conclude that it must really pack a punch. That large piece of metal spreads the power box signal thin (and resists the current more), resulting in a disappointing stim. Unfortunately, this is a common trait among the cheaper electrodes.
When Anna and I are evaluating a new electrode, the first hurdle it has to pass is power efficiency. It doesn’t matter how good it looks if it can’t deliver good contractions. All of our internal electrodes have been designed for clinical use, and they employ incredibly thin conductive surfaces to deliver a maximum area of stimulation without any sacrifice of power.
